THE Kinondoni District Commissioner, Mr Paul Makonda, held talks with the management of Feza Schools on how best to improve the education sector in his district.
Mr Makonda said discussions had touched three main areas including assisting pupils and developing the education sector in Kinondoni District. "Our discussions are going on well and we are at a good stage.
We will soon reach conclusions with implementations expected to follow as soon as possible," he said. The
Management of Feza Schools will assist 150 primary school pupils living in difficult conditions and whose schools are near Feza by offering them 250,000/- annually.
He pointed out that the funds will assist them in obtaining basic school requirements such as uniforms, text and exercise books and pocket money to sustain them during school hours.
The Director of Feza Schools, Mr Isa Otcu, said they were obliged to follow procedures as a way of supporting President John Magufuli's initiative of providing free education to all school age children.
Along with supporting the pupils financially, they are going to drill one borehole in one of the schools in the district to enable the pupils and residents to access clean and safe water.
"We are also planning to further the construction of one of the government primary schools located in Mbezi Juu to reduce congestion of pupils in classrooms,” said Mr Otcu. He stressed that the programme of extending support in developing the education sector in the country will be sustainable.
