 Azam midfielder Himid Mao has been ruled out of the Mainland premiership match between Azam and Tanzania Prisons to be played at the Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya tomorrow.

 

The latest development has been unveiled in the club’s website by yesterday evening. Coach Stewart Hall says the player will be replaced by midfielder Salum Aboubakar. 

 

Azam gear up to displace Yanga from the pilot seat should they post a victory in Mbeya tomorrow and boot their points collection tally to staggering 48.

 

The ice-cream makers have played 18 matches to stay a point adrift of holders Yanga who have played 19 matches so far.

 

 The match in Mbeya will be closely followed by soccer fans across the mainland as it might tilt the premiership standings.

 

Azam who triumphed 3-0 over Mbeya City at the Sokoine Stadium last Saturday, will be all out to post another victory to seal the top spot.

 

However, Prisons will not go into the stadium heads down as they also seek points to avoid any slip up in the premiership berth survival.

Prisons have 31 points after 19 appearances and a win would lift them in comfortable position.

 

 Title race has been tight as Simba have 45 points despite playing 20 matches so far. The third-placed Dar side lost derby to archrivals Yanga last Saturday to lose title chase grip.
