Mauritius firms in Dar to showcase products

REPRESENTATIVES of Mauritius leading companies, including manufacturers and technology majors, are set to showcase their products to Tanzanian business community in Dar es Salaam on Monday.
To be officiated by the Minister for Industries, Trade and Investment, Mr Charles Mwijage, the one-day event will feature 17 Companies from the upper middle income nation.
The promotion programme event is organized by Talemwa Investment Consulting Company (TICC)
, Tanzania, in collaboration with Enterprise Mauritius with support of Tanzania Trade Development Authority and The Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA).
Addressing members of the press in Dar es Salaam, TICC Managing Director, Mr. David Lutabana, said the event aims at creating valuable network opportunities and promoting improved trade between Tanzania and Mauritius.
“The event intends to bring together buyers and investors from small, mid-sized and large businesses of the business communities from both countries. The event will give a chance for industry leaders from various sectors to come together and discuss business opportunities which prevails between the two destinations,” he said.
Speaking at the event on behalf of TCCIA, Mr Paul Koyi, Chairman of Tanzania Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA), Temeke District Branch said taking advantage of Mauritius as a tourist destination country with various business opportunities and Tanzania as a hub of natural resources, there are abundant business opportunities that can be explored.
Speaking during the event, Mr Rajen Subbamah, The manager for Enterprise Mauritius, an apex Trade Promotion Organisation of Mauritius said:
“Our local investor community is now looking for viable investment projects in priority area in Africa and given political stability and conducive environment for investment and trade in Tanzania, we prospect the nation to be one of our most important economic and trade partners”.
He mentioned the exhibitors to be from key sectors of Light Engineering, Agro products, paint and chemicals, textile and accessories and others. The exhibitors will include Abita Shades, Africasia Electronics Manufacturing, Bacotex Limited, Eurolux, Glory Plastics Ind Ltd, IF Glass, La Trobe Co Ltd, Marble and Stones, Navigation and Geocoding Technologies Ltd, Nivra Enterprises Ltd, Safocean Co Ltd, Sissi Creation, SLK Gold Taste Ltd, SMP International Ltd, Soge International, Top Detergent Ltd and V-Information Technology & Management Institute.
