Dar es Salaam.
Her efforts in
the fight endometriosis have received worldwide recognition and she was
the first recipient of the first BET Global Good Award. Millen Magesse
who was absent at the awards ceremony only received her award this week.
Apparently
Millen paid a courtesy call at the BET studios in Washington DC where
she was handed her prestigious award. “What an amazing day it is today
we are so honoured to have our first ever Global Good Award recipient
Millen Magese here at our DC BET Studios! I think she loves her award do
you?,” read an instagram post .
Millen was named as the sole nominee for the award early in May and the awards ceremony was held on June 28.
Global
Good is a BET International initiative highlighting the humanitarian
efforts of global personalities and celebrities in communities around
the world.
Although known mostly as a model, Millen’s
award comes as recognition of her philanthropic and humanitarian work
throughout Africa in the fields of health, education and women issues.
The
former Miss Tanzania has set social media alight since the announcement
with expressions of pride and congratulations pouring in from all over
the world.
